Kyle Westmoreland

U.S. Air Force Captain, Retired

Pro Golfer on the PGA Tour

Kyle Westmoreland is a former active-duty Air Force Captain and avid golfer competing on the PGA Tour. Growing up in Texas, Kyle played baseball, basketball, football, and golf in high school with hopes of getting an athletic scholarship for university. He decided to enroll in the Air Force Academy recalling, “The Air Force Academy had great coaches, was the best school I could get into, was free (big deal as I would be paying for college on my own…) and is one of the most challenging institutions in the country…so I said Bring It on.” During his time there, Kyle spent as much time on the course as he could fine tuning his skills while he acquired the skills of combat and service and said, “Ultimately, everyone enters USAFA for different reason, but they stay for the same one: To support the people around you and [sic] bond together through the challenging experiences.”

We recently caught up with Kyle, a Volition America ambassador and fan of Luminox, learning his personal story and what Luminox and Volition America means to him.

After completing his studies at USAFA, Kyle started his 5-year service becoming a Finance Officer stationed in Charleston, SC. In addition to fulfilling his daily duties, he was given order to teach cadets in the Air Force Physical Education Combative/Reconditioning Department. Through this experience, Kyle was able to share his knowledge and help the cadets learn combat training skills that might make the difference in a potential real-world scenario.

Now a full-time professional golf player having earned his PGA Tour Membership in 2022, Kyle explained to us how his passion for the sport combined with his Air Force career led him to Volition America, “I was introduced to the Folds of Honor in college while playing in the college all-American tournament they host. I was fortunate to win as a senior and was asked to be part of their marquee event “The Patriot Cup” on Memorial Day of that year (2014) and have been playing in it ever since.

Volition was born from relationships that were built via the Folds of honor and as I began the sponsorship process, I could think of no better organization to align myself with the Volition America (part of their profits are directly donated to the Folds of Honor who honor the sacrifice of our brothers and sisters in arms by educating their legacy! Volition by definition is the ability to choose. We choose to solely align with companies like Volition who share our goal of serving others on and off the course!”

Throughout his life, Kyle has been a team member, and he knows the importance of a team as he said, “Nothing great in life happens without a team. This is why I use the terms we and our in most cases as it pertains to golf instead of me. Our making it to the PGA tour is the culmination or the efforts of many.”

Luminox is honored to have Kyle Westmoreland on Team Volition and on Team Luminox!
