Luminox is proud to honor the everyday heroes from communities across America. To give back, we have taken the opportunity to honor a few of these selfless individuals who have gone above and beyond in order to make their community a safer, happier and healthier place.
Harris County, Texas
Jacob Glover, Deputy
Deputy Jacob Glover, a dedicated member of the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable's Office since 2019, was nominated by his colleague, Deputy James Wingfield, for his heroic service. On October 25th, 2022, while off duty, Deputy Glover and his father witnessed a traffic pursuit and crash involving a Galveston County SO Deputy. Acting swiftly, they assisted in corralling the perpetrators, and amidst the chaos, they discovered a person in the locked trunk of the burning vehicle. Despite escalating flames, Deputy Glover, his father, and Sgt. Stephenson successfully rescued the trapped individual, saving three lives that day.
Recognized for his extraordinary actions, Deputy Glover was awarded Precinct 8 Deputy of the Year by the American Legion Post 319. Luminox honored his consistent dedication by presenting Deputy Jacob Glover with a Thank You for Your Service Pacific Dive Watch for his heroic display and unwavering commitment to serving his community.
Anne Arundel County, Maryland
Alena Dailey, Hospice Care Worker
Nominated by her husband Ryan Dailey, for her selfless service. Alena Dailey began her career in senior care shortly after completing her undergraduate degree. In 2020, Alena's life, like the lives of countless Americans, was uprooted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Disturbed by the lack of sacredness surrounding death, lead her to transition to hospice care, where she has served Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles and Calvert counties.
Alena recounts, "The stark reality of death becoming a routine occurrence, lacking the sacredness it deserves, compelled me to reassess my path," In the years since, Alena has taken on the task of rebuilding her hospice's integrative arts program for patients and offering dementia education to caregivers. "Transitioning to hospice has been transformative. The extreme sense of purpose in walking alongside individuals from diagnosis to the end of life is both humbling and rewarding," Alena said. Luminox is proud to award Alena a Thank You for Your Service Pacific Dive Watch for her tireless pursuit of bettering the lives of those in her community.
Dallas, Texas
Holly Hammond-Wilonsky, English Teacher / Military Spouse
Holly Hammond-Wilonsky is nominated for steadfast service to her community by her husband, Mike Wilonsky. As an English teacher and military spouse to Lieutenant Colonel Mike Wilonsky, Holly reflects, “Early on, I knew to enjoy life and not taking the time I had in one spot for granted, I knew continuing my education and working with other spouses who were experiencing the same challenges I was experiencing helped … doing what I could with what I had where I was.” The ability to contribute to her community despite constantly changing circumstances is a challenge many military spouses face.
Holly’s ability to meet these difficult circumstances is recalled by her husband, “(Holly) volunteered at every unit for everything.” Lieutenant Colonel Wilonsky said. “She was the one every spouse counted on to fill in the gaps when their husbands were deployed—to combat or training assignments. She was the one to lean on when husbands weren’t coming home. She was the all-purpose rock of stability while the Marines operated in chaos.” Today, Holly continues to serve her community as an English Teacher outside of Dallas. Luminox is proud to award Holly a Thank You for Your Service Pacific Diver Watch for her relentless, selfless dedication to every community she touches.
Tupelo, Mississippi
Brian Estes, Nurse Anesthetist, Iraq War Veteran
Nominated by Brody Estes for his unwavering courage. After attending the Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia, Brian Estes was deployed to central and southern Iraq in 2005. Brian served with the 344 Combat Hospital and the 18th Airborne Division. Once arriving overseas, Brian was tasked with not only coalition treatment but with caring for enemy combatants. Brian remembers this as “morally and mentally challenging.”
Despite these challenges, Brian dutifully served and provided care to all in need. To this day, he credits his faith in god with navigating this complicated time and takes tremendous pride in “serving the greatest nation on earth.” Today, Brian continues to serve his community as an Anesthesiologist in Mississippi. Louisville, Kentucky
Shannon Teater, Registered Respiratory Therapist
Nominated by her brother, Brian Teater, Shannon Teater embarked on a career in respiratory therapy inspired by her family’s struggles with respiratory illness. Serving as a respiratory therapist at the University of Louisville Hospital, she has emerged as a beacon of care and compassion.
When the world had to face the horrors of COVID-19 in 2020, Shannon accepted the challenge and showed constant dedication towards her patients. Her brother, Brian Teater, recounts, “My sister worked tirelessly to care for patients who were critically ill with the virus. She put herself at risk every day, but she never wavered in her commitment”. Shannon finds pride in offering comfort to people in their most challenging times. When she’s not working, Shannon enjoys reading, traveling, gardening and hiking.We at Luminox are proud to award Shannon Teater a Thank You for Your Service Pacific Diver Watch for the heroic and consistent care she provides her community.
Forsyth County, Georgia
Peter Sabella, Sergeant at Sheriff's Office
Nominated by his friend, Ben Mathes, for his commitment to community service, Sgt Peter Sabella, began his career in public safety as a teenager, when he became a volunteer ambulance member. Over the next two decades, he dedicated himself to serving Forsyth County, working with EMS and Fire Service. Feeling a profound calling to protect his community in a different capacity, Sgt. Sabella transitioned to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office in 2007, where he has served with distinction for over fifteen years.
On July 29th, 2020, Sabella was awarded the Georgia Sheriffs' Association Deputy of the Year, Award for Professional Contribution. Sabella was honored for his work with Forsyth County Volunteer Units during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sabella and the Volunteer Units were tasked with the coordination and distribution of all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to Sheriff's Office personnel.
Presently, Sgt. Sabella teaches, supports, and manages over 150 volunteers with Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. We at Luminox are proud to award Sgt Peter Sabella a Thank You for Your Service Pacific Diver Watch for the decades of tireless service for his community.
